rasp knife ... third attempt

I thought I would be different to not grind down the rasp in the spine area for an unusual effect and it does look sorta unique, but the main reason I left it this way is because my feeble attempts at doing filework only leads to laughable results. Thanks for the good-natured jabbing.
 
Sorry to bring up an old post. What kind of file did you use (brand and type) and how did you go about annealing the file before doing the grinding? I'm just getting started into knife making and I think knives made from files are very cool...you did an awesome job on yours.
