Since I asked on here about farrier rasp HT, I thought I'd post a pic of one of the blades. I also did a WIP thread, linked here.http://www.greenbuggraphics.com/jasonfry/?p=212

Handle material is mahogany, with 3/16 brass pins. Here are the pics.

I don't like it. You scratched the blade too much, and not even the same on both sides! One is straight lines, and one is triangles! Come on now! ;)

I like file knives in general, and that's just plain cool. Looks like I need to get me a couple farrier's rasps...

I finished up a couple more of the rasp knives from the WIP thread. Here you go.

On the left is cocobolo with six 1/8 pins, on the right is bubinga with two 3/16 pins.

Anneal and grind, then HT for this batch. Of the 39 knives I've made so far, I've forged exactly 3 :) I'm interested in forging, but just don't have the setup I'd like to have, and people keep buying these stock removal knives as fast as I make them.

I remember that tutorial Jason, I've got it bookmarked. Nice looking Camp Knife buddy:thumbup: I've don't know why, but I really getting into forging Camp/Chopper style knives as of late. Just got 22 feet of 5160 from Admiral Steel yesterday.
