Hey guys, I was thinking about making the RAT 3 my next knife and was wondering how it faired as a neck knife with the factory sheath. I use my Becker Necker a lot, but I think the RAT 3 could be a better design for my use.

I guess if you don't mind the weight it would work as a neck knife. I know I wouldn't want to carry mine as a neck knife...it's just too heavy. also....this is not a slim knife.....it's chunky.

The Rat 3 would definitely work as a neck knife, but it is a bit on the heavy side. I tried wearing it as a necker before, but after a few hours, it started to be a real pain.

Chances are that you're better off wearing the Becker on your neck and the Rat 3 on your belt. Try it out though, the weight might not bother you.

As much as I am a fan of neck knives, I tried a neck rig with my RAT-3 D2 and it was a tad to heavy.

I agree; the RAT 3 is quite heavy and thick for a neck knife. Between the 2 I would just carry the becker around my neck because of how thin it is (not considering the weight since I dont personally have a RAT 3 but ive handled it for a bit. i cant compare the weight between the 2 now.). Still, I prefer belt carry for both of them.

I carried mine around my neck without a problem, since this was my first try at a necker I had nothing to compare it too. For me the weight was not a problem. I stopped because for edc a neck knife was just not ideal. My job requires me to run and the necker is just not the way to go.
