Love my BK7 so much, That I'm thinking about getting some similar sized knives. I know RAT doesn't make it Ontario does.. I was looking at the non serrated 1095 version any thoughts?

I know. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the new becker line..I was lucky enought to score a bk7 from a very kind forum member, I'll look into ther rangers as well. Thanks are there major differences between the rat 7 and rd 7?

Ethan Becker has hooked up with Kabar, but he said that the first knives being made were going to be the small bushcraft knives that he had at the Blade show.

I love my BK7's and I keep my RAT 7 in my truck . in the pouch is a SAK "hiker" and LMF firesteel, clipped to the back on the sheath is the S.O.L. PSK and under the molle loops is a package of snell hooks #4 .small sharpener and a para-cord shoulder sling to carry it all,RAT 7 is 1095 and PE and it is a great all around blade ,had it for nearly two years and it has alot of use.....I am sure it will get passed down to my 10yo son upon release of the RC6.I would pick up one on the secondary market via trade or for sale but I would not buy a new you from Ontario.

John, if we can ever manage to hang out, you are welcome to beat the ever living snot out of my RD7. It's a "skinny" one, 3/16ths thick, that I ordered from Justin but still chops like a beast. I've seriously thinned the edge down but his 5160 seems very stable even with an acute edge angle

I've got the RAT7, Riley, but it's not one of the blades I 'love'. It just doesn't see as much use. Not quite long enough to be a chopper, too long to be a primary belt knife. Still a decent blade of course.

For the price I'd say the Rat-7 is a decent knife. I traded mine away.....maybe I need to pick up another, strip it and give it some nice wood handles.

I know there know ontario is frowned upon largely, I knowit has something to do with a dispute over the rat line but I don't know the details....I'll be honest I think a 7 inch blade and folder combo works really well for me..

I had a Rat 7 combo edge in 1095 & it was a good knife but I found myself going for my Ontario TAK every time I hit the hills. I just sold it a couple of weeks ago. Yes the RAT knives are tough as nails but I would not buy a New one, I would try to trade for one or Ebay. But for the same money I would just get one of these custom knife makers here to make what you want ;)

I love my RAT7, plain edge 1095. Takes alot of abuse! I think it is a great knife for the price.

The factory sheath leaves a little to be desired. I will probably end up making a kydex sheath for mine. All in all a good price for a good knife.

just wondering does the sheath have a pouch for a smaller folder on it..My becker has one that fits my vic rucksack perfectly. Makes for a really handy duo.
