RAT Cutlery eh'?

So much hype about these! I can't wait to join the RAT pack. I am not sure how many posts I have to go... I know I want the custom ones they have for the members now

Go with your finances..The Izula costs about what a carton of cigarettes or a tank of gas costs..which one do you think will last longer?

My first was an RC6, then an RC4, while I was waiting for my RC5 to arrive. The RC4 is my EDC blade and sees the most use. I would have no qualms taking it on trips as my only knife. It is such a stout capable well designed blade, that it is really hard to beat.

My first rat was the rc-4 absolutely love that knife. I ordered an izula in desert tan to match about 10 minutes ago. I'm very excited about it and will edc it.

I think bushmattster has a given some sound advise. It is a good concept to start out with a larger knife (ready for immediate survival needs and self/home defense) and build around that base with smaller knives for skinning, bushcrafting, food prepwork, etc.

Couple that with an Izula as an edc/last ditch knife and you should be okay, especially if you get the Izula complete kit that has the fire starter and whistle, just add a small micro-light, like a Photon II or Photon Micro-Freedom, along with a dependable mini compass and you are really set when an emergency strikes.

RC-4 is perfect. My current favorite knife - perfect size and weight for a do anything knife. As others say, if I could only have 1, I'd pick this one. Thank goodness I don't have to just pick 1 - also have the RC-5 ESEE, and hopefully one day soon, an Izula or HEST (haven't decided between the 2 yet).
