...CONTEST...

CONTEST CLOSED-MILANI74 IS DA WINNER!!

Alright guys, this is the contest Tony warned you about.

We were talking about how this group is just about the friendliest, most helpful crew on Bladeforums. Never is a question asked that doesn't get a slew of replies with well wishes, advice and friendly banter and we wanted to reward you with a giveaway contest.

The only problem we've noticed with you folks is a distinct lack of scratches and marring in the coatings of your RATs, so to remedy that little issue were making this a skills contest.

Here's the deal, we want to see you guys USING your RATs....hard.

Building a shelter, building a trap, skinning out some game, starting a fire, cleaning a great white shark. Put those puppies to the test.

-We want action shots, in hand pics, blood and gore, wood chips caught in mid air. This is a photo contest too, make'em cool. They don't have to be professional quality, just good shots.

-No limit on the number of enteries, put one up every day if you wish.

-Must be a RAT cutlery blade (sorry, no Ontarios) and no photoshoping them in either.

-No Mods allowed (that means you Jeff.:D)

-Were gonna run this thing into the ground, we want you guys to be getting out and using those blades.

-Tony and I decide the winner, don't worry, we'll be fair. Best entry wins.

Prize will be an Izula kit in the color of your choice, and the knowlage that you got out there and used those blades the way they were designed to be used.

Thanks for being such a dedicated group of users and making this one of the best little corners of the net.

Now get out there and cut stuff!!

Okay here is a few to kick things off. I love my RATs!!!!! Admittedly, this last year has a been a bit of a custom buying knife odyssey. However, even though I'm usually playing with some new toy, an RC-product is [ALWAYS in my pack or at hand. It is that chunk of metal that I rely on to always be there and always perform.

Oh and my wife love RC too!

All of the kindling you see in this picture was batoned with my Izula. The fire itself was made using a hearthboard and spindle provided by tonym, but the hole/notch I used I drilled using the Izula as well. The tinder bundle I used was dry pine needles mixed with birch bark scrapings that I made with the knife. Unfortunately I was alone in the house at the time so I only have static pictures.

And here's what my RC-3 looked like before I stripped the coating to blue it. :D

After the mod. (it's scratched up again by now, of course! But it looks better without the flaking.)

Where my RC-3 rides. And Titus, too. :)

Damn I love seeing the Izula being used so hard. Shows you that dynamite comes in small packages.

When is the last day to enter this contest, just wanted to know if I had enough time to dig to China with my RC-5!

I can still enter it with picture links right? I have to be a gold memer to post pics. I would think since most rat people are fair this is most likely not an issue.:D

Your fine with links my friend.

Have you considered a hosting service like photobucket? It's fast and free and your pics will show up as normal images.

You don't have to, your still in the running, just a suggestion.:o

EDIT: Sorry, my dumb was showing there for a minute. Didn't realize the links came from photobucket.

You don't need a gold membership to post pics, it does make you cooler though;)

Just copy and paste the code on photobucket that says image code. and post that.

Nice pic Tony.
Looks like the wood just exploded into tiny slivers when you dug your RC-6 into the stump.
