Rat Guy's Opinions on Beckers

The new BK11 is a little thicker than the old one, so the grind is now higher. Ethan said in a post, that he did this to maintain the blade geometry. I took my new BK11 with me in the woods this weekend, and it is a great little knife, but the sheath needs work, it doesn't fit the knife that well, since it is made to house both the BK11 and the new Mini-TacTool.

As for the steel, Ethan posted that it may have lost a very small amount of edge retention compared to the Camillus , but should be much tougher.

I have a Camillus Becker BK10, it is a great knife, and it is hard to say whether my RC4 will replace it as my go to blade in the woods, but the RC is right up there.BK11FuzzStick.jpg

You can count on anything and everything Ethan Becker puts his name on. The BK-7 was one of my favorite knives, before Camillus put the screws to Ethan.

Ethan called Miked a couple of weeks ago and said the whole line should be out at SHOT show. We're looking forward to seeing Ethan back in the game. Damn good man and some great knives. You won't go wrong. I feel the same way about all of KaBar's staff and product. You won't find better people than Paul, John and the others at KaBar.

That really says alot about RAT. You all (RAT Cutlery) are A-OK in my books. I hate it when one manufacturer dogs another just because of competition. This further instills my faith in your company. I will be ordering something from RAT very very soon. Thank you again for an honest approach at this question. VERY Cool of you.

There is room enough for everyone. I am looking forward to seeing the new line from Ethan. I think Ka bar will do it right. I am also interested to see the new Ranger line up that will be out very soon. I know Justin has been making regular trips to the plant checking on things and showing new designs. I know Ontario is not popular here, with good reason, but Justin is a great guy that I've spent some time with and I'll always support him. :D

I truly hope Ontario and Justin do very well with the line. And that's as honest as I know how to be.
