Rat Izula vs Becker Necker

I have both and use both but tend to use my Necker more. The Neckers edge is thinner and the blade is longer so that is why I tend to carry it more.

If you have the money buy both and see which one you like better.

Not because this IS the RAT forum, but I prefer the Izula. The balance and fit in my hand work better for me. Also, my Izula is never my 'primary' blade so the blade size is never an issue for me.

Now if only the Izula had a bottle opener.....

I chose the Izula over the Necker, when it was time to buy.It has become my favorite edc.I pack it in my right front pocket, with a Vic Tinker in the left. That combo gets me through most days.

Well Im convinced :)

Most of the comments on the main forum, other forums, and of course here have made up my mind. Its the Izula.

I'm not new to knives, but new to this forum. One thing I look at when buying a product is the loyality of the brand. I have to say the "rat pack's" fierce devotion and passion (in my mind) means they are doing something right.

I asked this same question on the Becker forum. I got one reply... and that guy even edged things to the Izula.

So, now the tough question... color... Its not pink, its not likely black..

Man the tan and the green both look good with both colors or wrap... :)

I was just going to bring up the odd phenomenon of the completely different responce levels...

btw, I don't have a necker, like you I finally picked the Izula.
I can say however that I am happy with it, and I'm now saving my pennies for an RC-6.

I'm a sucker for small fixed blades, so the becker is still on my list though, especially since if you look you can find them for just over $30.

I love my tan one with some OD 550 cord, OD green is one of my favorite colors, however I am not fond of RAT's OD, it's a little off to me.... signal those crying blasphemy

Well, maybe I'm a bit biased but I am a fan of anything Becker puts his name on. I'm also a fan of our own stuff :D Seriously, I don't think you can go wrong with either of the two knives. While there are some differences, in the grand scheme of things I'd just as soon pick one up as the other when I need a knife of that size.

Im starting to lean toward that "khaki" model... woudl look cool with green or black 550 cord.

YES! Come to the dark-side. . . . we have cookies!

Already starting to consider an RC3 or 4 as my field knife. :)

BUT, i just realized last night I need new tires on my road bike... all that after having the hub re-built. Man, its always something! LOL.

I have to stop reading these threads, I already wanted an Izula.......Guess I know where part of my paycheck is going this month......

Don't worry guys we can start a little community under the down town bridge when our houses get forclosed on, but hey we will be the most heavily armed bums EVER!

Yep, just waiting on the funds to hit the account and I will grab one. We have a decent hunting supply place up the highway. I may go and see if they have the Becker or the Izula in stock... and look at the other skeleton neckers. But unless something REALLY grabs my butt, im going for a tan Izula.

Gotta gotta get one!

I didn`t know if I would like the Izula I got it just to try ,I love it and I like big knives. The only thing is I would like a thinner edge but I wouldn`t trade the blade/point shape to have a thinner edge.Get an Izula if you don`t like it you can always sell it here.Oh and I love the green I worried it wouldn`t sit well with me but now I don`t know what other color I would even want to try.

i handled a becker today, and became more impressed with my 'zula.

the handle on the becker is just a little too short. the point isn't as acute as the izula, and the blade wasn't nearly as sharp. it was priced at about what the izula costs, but maybe that's because i was at a gun shack, and not looking online.

Definetly the Izula. I like my necker to be small and lightweight. The handle on the Izula is much more comfortable and you get the RAT warranty.
