They got the Mojos and the HRs in stock...

Jump on it if you haven't picked one up yet!! :D

Not anymore ;) HR's are basically gone, the last one was just bought from the Company Store. 1 or 2 may show up later at the Store, but at least for a while they are basically gone.

Uncle's probably won't be far behind ;)

:D:D

That buddy of mine bought his HRLM earlier in the week. He had been waiting for the BB kydex to be in stock so he could get both in at once, but I told him that if the HRLM was what he wanted, he should get it while he can. :) Good timing.

I am thoroughly frustrated by this company. I really do like the look of the Swamp Rats and have heard, and read greats things about them, but I was looking for a camp/general use knife in November of '05 and decided on a Howling Rat, but they were sold out, but the new line was coming in Feb. of '06. So I waited, and waited, and waited. I looked for the new Howling Rat almost every day for 6 months in '06, then off and on when I thought about it. Now I look on here today having been away for a couple months. About 18 months from when I first noticed these knives, and the HR is AVAILABLE!!!!! Oh, wait they are sold out.....

Does anyone know of a product that is similiar in quality/design to these knives that you can actually purchase within a reasonable time period? I really would like one of these knives but it doesn't seem worth the trouble.

TOPS, Lesser steel but same heft/handle materials.
Busse, better steel/materials, higher price. You didn't mention price?
Scrapyard, same type of issue
Ranger RD series

The exchange forums here can net you whatever you want at a price. For a knife of this caliber, and the fact that it will last forever, you can consider the slight price increase amortized over the rest of your life. I saw a scrapper 6 with kydex for several dollars more than retail on the boards the other day.

To be fair, the HRLM's were in stock, then out of stock briefly, then in stock for a long time. Same as the m6's.

makey98,
I am sorry that you are finding the acquisition of such a great knife to be so frustrating. If I may suggest, the forum has a knife "wanted to buy" section. I would post your desire over there, specifically stating what knife you are after. I have known someone to post a desire to purchase a very rare, sought after Busse, and basically had his knife within a few days. Your other options are to check the "for sale" threads, check an auction site, or just wait for the store to get more in. But again, the "wanted to buy" section is probably your best option in the short run. And do make yourself accessable in the event someone needs to get a hold of you. At the very least, turn on your e-mail or post your e-mail addy. Good luck!

Well, there is no fun here for sure. But this is how things are, fixed price plus limited supply - welcome to the USSR, now you may feel like most of Russians 20 years ago.

But beleve me, once you have this knife you'll forget about all this troubles at once!

Thanks, Vassili.

Yeah, I guess I need to post in the wanting to buy section. I am just not used to wanting a product that isn't widely available. I guess that is what makes them something worth having.......I will post in the wanting to buy section and keep looking a little more often. I just forgot about these knives for a couple months (I haven't looked since Jan. 15th) and I missed my chance.....thanks for the advice guys...

Matt

I couldn't believe how long they were available for,i was just about to place my third order when i saw this thread, knew i should have just ordered six the first time round, damn it!!!:(

I have been eying an HRLM of my own for a while. I was waiting on some money to come in from an upcoming show. Should have just put it on credit :)

I'm very new to this, but what I discovered was that if you want to buy a particular SW from the company, it's good to check the shop once a day until it comes up, then buy as soon as its available. Even that's probably overboard since it seems Eric gives heads up on on this forum as to what's going to be in the shop. The HRs seemed to be available for a pretty long time.

Can I suggest to you that you check scrapyardknives.com these are also part of the extended Busse family and have two knives currently available that might fit your needs: the Scrapper Six and the Dumpster Mutt.

Sorry, since they were coming up on the website, I assumed they had some in stock. MY bad.

The Uncle, and Mini Mojo are currently in stock as well as the HR LM. I do not imagine that the HR or Uncles will last long though ;)

:D:D

Thanks, Eric, for a quality product. Bought a HR LM today to keep my older HR company. Thought I had missed out and was pleasantly surprised today. Kudos. Looking forward to the next model

I checked the shop @ 4:51 central and the HR were out of stock... On a side note, why are some knives "sterile" (no logo). Why is this important or why does SRKW do this?

Also, I did see a HR for sale is the Res for 150, but I just don't feel comfortable (or desperate enough, yet...:) ) to spend more than retail for an old knife....maybe soon...
