RAT micarta handles

I have a RC-3 and RC-4 and just ordered a RC-5. I noticed that the canvas micarta handles seem to get dirty and stay that way. Is there anything I could do to the handle of the RC-5 before I use it that will help keep it looking better?

You could polish it with sandpaper, but it will lose its grippyness.

When my Canvas Micarta handles get dirty, I wash em in hot water w/ dishsoap and they always come clean.

Just wash them in warm soapy water and all the dirt and oils wil come right out. They dry pretty quickly too.

Nothing wrong with dirt though! It's character and RAT knives aren't meant to be pretty.

Sounds good. I thought I read somewhere that you can oil the handles.

i like the dirt, sweat and what not on my handles....looks like mine smells like mine

I used mine this spring to fillet some bass. Needless to say it smelt less than desireable a few weeks later. I washed it with some scrub soap (forget the brand) and it came out clean as new.
