Rat Pack knife question...

My next question for those getting your customized, personalized RP knife.... will you use it or keep it pristine????

Jeff RP192

It's a RAT knife - I'm going to use it!!

I don't have any safe queens, I buy them to use - pretty or utilitarian, expensive or cheap, rare or common. If I own them, they get used! I don't abuse, but I do use.

Any sort of "collectable" thing I own, I use.

I'm not going to keep something untouched just so that after I die, someone else gets to use it that way! Lifes too short!

I really want to get the knife!

Is it open for non US people? $75 is a blummin brilliant price, I paid £100 for my RC-3!!!

I'd keep the Rat Pack knife safe and use my regular RC-3, 2 is 1, 1 is none principle.

I'll definitely use it, it would show disrespect to the RC guys if I didn't! ;)

My knives are tools, so it'll get used for sure.

I don't keep any screwdrivers or hammers in my safe, so this one won't be any different.

It'll be nice to have to answer all the questions about it when people see me use it. :)

"What do those screws say? Pack Rat?"
"What does the number 151 mean?"

May end up using it, but I have a RC-3 already. Might end up sitting in a display case right next to the TAK-1 Jeff gave me :)

This one I'm keeping clean! I edc a izula and a RC-3 or 4. this RPK is a very special thing!

RAT PACK #91

For me it will be a user. I have an RC-3, but serrated, and this forum knife will compliment that one nicely. All the little labels and script is kind of cool, but lets face it - this thing ain't no beauty queen. Beauty queens have wood handles not orange G10. Beauty queens have shine blades, not coated ones. This, like all rats is a user. The closest thing RAT ever made to a beauty queen was the Ontario D2-Ram's horn models.

In all truthfulness, I'm not sure I'd pull for a rat beauty queen. I mean, it sort of defeats the purpose of the brand recognition.

It will definitly be used as i don't have an RC3 but it will not be abused
I will mostly use it hunting or camping but i have other knive i will use for stuff like batoning etc

Beauty is in the hand of the beholder. It's a special thing .And I'd ride in the short bus with it.

RAT PACK #91

A knife that isn't being used isn't a knife. It's the use that defines it, not the existence or the shape. Trying to keep a knife in pristine shape renders the knife useless. How can it have any value if it is never able to fulfill it's purpose? May as well be made of rubber. RP Knife 165 will be used, will be a knife.

Forgot to post my thoughts.. :)

192 will be used. I agree with the sentiments of many who have posted. Its a knife. Its meant to be used. :)

That said, its interesting to read all the responses... THANKS!

If and when, and if I wear out the six RAT's I own (cuz if I break any,RAT will just replace them) and not counting all other knives I own. I will edc the RPK. I said I was going to keep it clean, not never use it. It will cut things. I just have no intentions on beating the crap out of it any time soon.

RAT PACK #91

Since it is unique to me (has my Rat Pack #25) I will keep it as a safe queen and use my mass produced RC3 that I already have. Its obvious this is a one shot deal (Rat pack knife) and we could always get another RC3 (mass produced version). RIGHT!?

I agree with all the sentiments that a knife should be used. I'm just lucky enough to already have an RC-3 to wail on. :D
