This announcement is long overdue. It seems that every time something new is announced from RAT Cutlery it generates a lot of dumb questions. Stop it! Obviously there is certain information not mentioned because Jeff/Shon/Mike don't know about it or don't want to give it out in the likely hood that it'll change. Common sense people, use it. If specs have been given, don't ask 20 questions about them. I know that new products get members excited, but try to be courteous to the people bringing you the info/products.

And try to refrain from spamming questions to other members that know no more than you do (i.e. forum regulars, moderators). Another note, READ THE RULES! If you don't understand the rules, REREAD THE RULES!

Thank you, this has been a public service announcement. :D

*edit

This post is regarding dumb questions that can be answered by a little effort by members to comprehend and use their common sense when receiving information. NOT general questions asked around here on a regular basis, sorry for any misunderstandings.

No, no, send 'em to Mrs. Shotgunner, but I'm pretty sure she'd tear you a new one. :D

Thank you for that! :D

I don't get it AK.

Days getting short up North?

Worried that Jeff can't handle a few questions?

Think Shon will get sick of this business with all these customers pestering him for more product?

Questions make you feel anxious?

Uncomfortable with uncertainty?

Think Mike doesn't know how to lock a thread?

Concerned that Shotty is sleeping at the wheel?

Don't know which side TTD is on? Management or consumer? Hmmm....?

Frankly, I don't see the harm in folks expressing some enthusiastic curiosity about RAT products, past, present, or future. Do you?

Figure out that I like questions yet?

1. The days are actually starting to get short up here.
2. Jeff can handle questions, but not sure if he can handle the heat he gets from killing the ignorant posters here.
3. Shon won't get sick of business, but the H1N1 virus might get him.
4. Some questions make me feel anxious.
5. I can be comfortable with uncertainty, but it really depends on what it is. If I'm waiting to see the test results if I have cancer I'd be uncomfortable.
6. Not sure if Mike knows how to lock a thread, but I have no doubt he could.
7. Shotty doesn't sleep, he just rests his eyes.
8. TTD is questionable. :D
9. Nope.

It just seemed like all the questions were getting on a few peoples nerves when instructions/information are clearly stated so that a 6 year old could even understand them. This is just a friendly PSA. ;)

Days are getting shorter here too. Snowing tonight as well. I think Mother Nature just issued a memo that summer is over. :o

REALLY? Who are you? I agree that there are some ridiculous and annoying questions posed on this forum, and that some people have an uncanny abilitly to not be able to follow simple instructions, but to criticize and chastise everyone who asks a question about a new product...whose ass are you kissing? I've asked severeal questions (apparently they were reasonable) and have gotten friendly and informative answers from the RAT gang. As long as you're not being and idiot and asking common sense or redundant questions, Jeff, Mike, and Shon have no problem answering our questions about new products, nor should they. I think that you are way off base here and are speaking for people that you have no right to speak for. The people in charge here have no problem telling people when they are being annoying. I think that your elitist attitude is a little off base here and that you are preaching to the choir.

Wow, take a chill pill. Try and reread my post before you start to flame me because you interpreted my post wrong. But maybe you haven't seen the countless threads of Jeff getting pissed at members posting questions that can be answered by just reading what was already posted. Or Mrs. S getting questions sent to her when she volunteered to help with the RAT pack knives. But if you think I'm an elitist that has no right to state the obvious, then all the power to you.

Maybe it's not your place...
And maybe you should look more closely at the way you come off...
Maybe?

There's a misunderstanding here, I'm not saying stop asking all questions but rather the dumb questions that annoy most members around here.

Examples:

How do I get a RAT Pack #?!
Can I throw my Izula?
Jeff chimes in giving info about [new product] and mentions there will be no different colorations, gives exact specs, and says there is no other info at this time. Over 1/4 of the thread is full of questions that were already answered.
RAT Pack knife thread, too many examples I don't feel like mentioning.

I'm sorry gottahaveit27 if you were offended by my post, and by my pathetic attempt to get the word out there that those questions are getting on people's nerves. I'm hoping that you just misinterpreted my initial post (I guess I could've worded it differently to get my point across more clearly).

By all means keep asking general questions, but if it can be answered by common sense and grade school level comprehension then reconsider asking.

(Not trying to hijack this thread.)

We've had one of the coolest summers in a long time & an early fall... So much for "global warming"!

Carry on!

Yeah our summer was pretty tame as well. A few times I thought it was going to be a blistering summer, but it turned out to be decently cool. And with all the rain the turning of the leaves during Fall is going to be awesome!
