RAT RC-5 SERE Chomping at the bit...

Alright R.A.T Cutlery I have a bone to pick with you.......
I searched the internet high and low looking for a Christmas knife for myself.I looked at stainless knives and Carbon knives.Big ones,Small ones.Fixed and folders and I found what I was looking for......
RC-5 SERE
Designed by military SERE instructors around the RAT Cutlery RC-6 handle, this will be the first 1/4" thick knife that RAT has offered.

Overall Length: 10.88"
Blade Length (end of handle to tip): 5.25"
Thickness: .25"
Steel: 1095 Carbon
Finish: Black and OD Powder Coating
Blade Width: 1.563"
Grind: Flat, .80" from edge to top of grind
Weight (knife only): 16 ounces
Handles: Canvas Micarta w/ bow drill divot
Sheathing: Eagle (see photo below)
Pommel: Sharpened point
Spine: Thumb grippers, 1.13" long
Oh yeah I was excited at the prospect of this sweet blade coming with me on my boxing day annual hike.Saying to my friends "look at how freaking sweet this knife is".Laughing as they ooze with envy.But then I saw it......
Those red letters mocking my wishes "(Release Date: February 2009. Pre-ordering will begin in January)"
So now I remain knife less this holiday season.No new awesome R.A.T. blade this year.
Difficult presents will have to be multi-tooled open instead of awesomely sliced and cut with my new R.A.T. knife.
For shame......:D:p
 
Now Now. The Izula's just out plus the RC6. I picked up an RC6 to help me deal with the pain of waiting.
 
Get an Izula, and stare at the SERE pics. Its what im doin.

Dealers will be able to pre-order at SHOT show. Pricing should be fixed next week. Knives should ship sometime in February (BEST GUESS - NO GUARANTEES!!) when sheaths start shipping from Eagle to us.
 
does anyone have any photos of the RC-5 prototype in action?? the more I look at this knife, the more impatient I get...:)

Jeff, any chance of some pre-SHOT show photos of the production model and sheath system?
 
OOOH we're getting close!! This knife has been on the top of my "must have" list for quite some time now, I can't wait!!
 
OD green SERE.., nice!! but honestly I wouldn't care if it was purple with pink polka-dots!! I just gotta have one!! :p

A purple and Pink SERE they need to make that now. People will first think to laugh at the colors but then the awesomeness of the blade will make them jealous and envy you.
