Just picked up a pair of these at Blade West. One went to Brian at Okuden so if you need a sheath place your order.

360Joules (Troy) corrected me at the Blade West show and whipped out his EDC Shaker to demonstrate that this new knife is way bigger than the original Rat Shaker. The size of this new knife is closer to a Skeleton Warden than a Shaker.

I hope Eric names this knife soon...until then maybe its the Gen2 Shaker ;)

Its not. This one is the first of its kind from the Rats Nest. If it were the same size as the other Shakers it would be the third generation.
 
I stand corrected. Thanks Leatherman. Now I am really curious as to what these are being called.

Mine measures .185 above the chole.
 
Not sure what they're being called, but I want to know when the store's gonna have them! :D
 
Eric, are you going to have some of these up for sale at the store anytime soon ?
 
I'm working on getting some Rat Wardens. I don't have them yet and I don't know when/if I'll get them.

So is "Rat Warden" the official name of this knife? Or is this just another working name until it is offically named? Rat Warden is to close to Game Warden. I think it should be called something else.
mike biz had some good suggestions. I like the following:
Rat Bone
Skeleton Rat
Skelly Rat
Anybody else got any name suggestions?
 
Thanks James. I got to admit, I'm not fond of Rat Warden at all. I love Rats, feeling they are the best bang for the buck in the Busse family. Don't get me wrong, Busses and Scrap Yards are sweet as well, but something about the Rats just calls to me. They're functional designs just say "beat on me." I hope that SRKWs attempts to maintain the autonomy that they are afforded by the Busse clan, and the uniqueness that we all crave in their blades. For me even the names add to that in a big way. Howling Rat, Camp Tramp, Ratweiler. Those are sweet designations.

Hey Bully, if Rat Warden ain't the official name, how bout a naming contest? I'm sure we could come up with something good

That said, I haven't been here long, so I don't expect anyone to use one of my names or take any of my suggestions. I was just throwing them out there to see if anyone else had ideas. Basically, it's just great to be a part of this forum where you regularly get to interact with company staff, super-avid and knowledgeable collectors and users, and just generally great people.

So in the spirit of naming I submit to you again (just for kicks), my two faves so far:

Rat Carcass

Rat Bone
