RAT Tattoo Question

I was actually interested in the answer to whether or Not RAT is still doing that promo. Having tattoo sleeves on both arms it would not be all that outrageous for me.

Typically, when someone asks of you do your own work it is not a compliment. Kind of a dick thing to say.
 
I agree. Tatoos are a very personal thing and making comments like that can be very hurtful.
 
nice art bro! I am also all tatted up, some folks just need to understand all tattoo work doesn't have to be themed or look as if it come straight out of tat magazine. tattoo and the art there of, more times then not is a personal reflection.
 
I'm sorry, Cap'n. But I happen to like the "pride" tattoo. Some of my best work was done by "Me".

Like I said, typically. The implication, typically, is that you were practicing or too cheap/poor to get good work done. So, typically, that is an insulting thing to say and does, in fact, read as sarcasm prior to an explanation.

Mr. Harp, all of those images were posted by me on BladeForums in the past. I really don't feel like digging up the threads, but they're called "Let's See Your Tattoos" and "My Spyderco Tattoo" and the photo of the RATs is somewhere in the EDC Fixed Blade thread.

"Do you do your own work?" in tattoo circles is an insult. Maybe you aren't familiar with that culture or the lexicon, so nothing personal.

The "pride" tattoo on my stomach says "CHEROKEE PRIDE" but my arms are covering up most of the top word.



I think I should bow out of this for now before things get ugly. The photo will be sent to Jeff and he can do what he wishes with it; like I said, I'm not in this for a free knife.

Not thrilled with the tone that this thread ended up with.

I don't know if folks were looking to be insulting or not but i would have taken it that way.

Tattoos are highly personal and the "quality" of them or lack thereof are very subjective. I would suggest that before anyone decides to pick on anyone elses tats, you pick up a gun and give it a try.

By the way, that Spyderco is freaking sweet.:thumbup:

Having spent the last 20 years either working in, hanging out in, or patronizing tattoo shops I recollect the only time I have heard people ask if they "did it themselves" was known artist to known artist, or known inmate to known inmate. The guy that did my right arm sleeve once asked a frat boy that had his shitty greek letters on his shoulder if he did it himself simply because it looked like shit...and most tattoo artists (not all are business men) don't like to do that kind of work. He meant to insult him (mostly cause he was being an ass in his shop).

Yeah, like MMA so your knuckles aren't covered up with boxing gloves. As much as I look forward to heaven, I didn't want to get there because my wife killed me, and that's exactly what she'd do If I got a tatoo like that.

Is Harp a troll? All I ever see him post is him calling bullshit on people without reason and being rude.

JNieporte if you want to continue a noble tradition, give him the finger in your RAT picture like the last guys did. Your solid in everybody's books, don't fret about him.

Munk, I don't rememmber ever calling BS before this, but apparently you do. Look up those posts and let me know. For every one you find I'll send you $50. For the record, I have done some of my own tats. Had to start somewhere.
