Hi everybody!
Brand spankin' new here.
I own, and love Glocks for their simplicity, and reliability. So after some reading on here, I ended up going to knifesshipfree.com, and bought the Izula in tan. Came right back to the forum, went to the picture thread (big mistake), and 30min later I was ordering an RC-4.
Now I'm just sitting here biting my nails waiting on them to show up.
I was looking for a good camp/all around knife, and didn't want to spend over $60. Well $150 later (for both), I think I got the best knives on the market at that price.
A friend of mine was giving me hell about not getting the Falkniven knife for the money I spent. This is the same guy whose always gave me hell about my Mora Clipper. All I told him was we'll see who got the best value when we test them in our camping trip next weekend. I have always believed that 440c and 1095 are the best blade metal available, but if my research doesn't deceive me, RAT's tempering is one of a kind.
I've always felt confident going in to the woods with my kukri machete, and Mora Clipper.
I just hope my new knives will lighten some of my load, and of course look tacticool in the process.;)
Anyway, Thank You for your time and input of how wonderful these knives are, and will post pics, along with other toys when they arrive.
Now let me get to postin', so I can get my RAT# :D

The subject line of this thread is a great compliment. We don't mind being the ugly duckling as long as our product works and is backed with 100 percent customer satisfaction. A lot of LE think that RC and Glock fit together also ;)

That's really good to hear! I love my Glock and RAT knives for similar reasons, mainly that I know I can depend on their performance and not worry them. They just work, 24/7. Great products.

You must be my twin brother!

I'm a Glock fan and I ordered the Izula and RC 4 within a week of each other :D

You won't be disappointed in either one.

Welcome to the forums! I'm pretty new here myself and plan on getting the tan Izula as my starting point in the Rat knives.

I like Glocks too. I plan on getting the Glock 21 at some point, and pairing it with a RC-6 (which will be my second Rat knife).

I completely agree. I prefer and carry Glocks because of their ruggedness and reliability. Same could be said for my RC-4. I don't really care about hype or tacti-coolness. I just like working tools that I can rely on.

I thought these were the Glocks of knives:

Seriously though, I get what you are saying and I agree. With both Glocks and RATs you get a simple, functional tool for a fair price that may not look the prettiest but it will always work. Now if only I could take my RATs apart with only a 3/32" punch. :)

Must be a true sickness. I can agree since I have 3 Glocks and 5 RC knives. Rugged, reliable and be counted on to do their job when necessary.

Do it! The Glock 21 is a great gun. I have mine sitting here on the desk as I'm typing this. 13+1 rounds of .45ACP is big medicine.

Rats are like Glocks- simple as pie, reliable as hammers.

Speaking of Glocks- wouldn't it be nice to get that Tenifer finish on a knife? I've yet to see any metal coating that holds up as well as that stuff does. I've been using my Glock 19 fairly heavily for six years now, and I still don't have a single mark on the slide.

Yeah, after ordering my Izula, I figured it would pair up perfectly with my G-27.
Then I thought, "My G-23 might get upset and lonely", so I got the RC-4 for it.

I agree with everything said about quality, except that while Glock is an ugly gun, the RATs are not ugly knives. :p

There sure are a lot of us that think alike! Glocks have always been my favorite sidearm, along with RAT being my number one blade. Both are no frills and have absolute reliability. Their customer service is also among the best in both industries. Which is what all of us common sence people want in a product. You couldn't ask for anything more.

* Now I can't wait to get my new RAT Pack with the included RC-6!!! November 22 can't come soon enough!!!

glocks can melt in hell. RAT blades are the SIG P226's of knives. Superior materials and precision engineering and manufacturing, offering a perfect balance of ergonomics and performance in a gorgeous, sexy, rediculously reliable, accurate and fast package. Glocks are made by frenchies (ew) and if they are not made by them, all the profits go to them. I will still never forgive SIG for so horrendously marring the reputation of the SIG 550 line by selling that overpriced molded plastic POS wannabe 550 for 2000+ dollars in the US while swiss and austrian civilians can buy them for the equivelant of 500 dollars US in any gun shop... while us americans have to pay 15 grand for the real deal. Sigh, rant is over. I have a job now though, so maybe a 15,000 dollar rifle is a possibility...
