You know, the same stuff they did to the Skinner, the Camp Tramp, the Battle Rat. Basically, beating the crap out of it to see how much it takes. In particular, I'm interested in how the liner lock holds up to tapping the spine (even hammering), and prying, and twisting. Not that I'd ever use a foldling knife to do any of that stuff, but say you get the tip of the blade stuck and you have to twist it to get it out. This is usually where most liner locks fail. I'm curious (and quite honestly, I WANT to believe) the Swamp Rat liner lock is superior to most, if not all, the others.
I'd also like to know if the S30V blade is heat treated differently than most production S30V blades and how well that edge holds up to abuse.
But most of all, I want to see pictures of the Trap in action because I need my knife porn!
I'm not asking anyone on this forum to destroy or intentionally abuse their personal knives. I just know there are websites and individuals who routinely test knives to their limits just to see how much they can take. Swamp Rat and Busse often do their own tests. I was just wondering if any testing has already occurred and if anyone could provide a link to these tests. I have no doubt it's a quality knife and I am leaning more and more towards getting one simply based on the excellent blade profile, and the fact that for such a large blade everyone says how comfortable it is to carry. I just tend to obsess on things and like as much info as possible before plunking down the cash.
PLEASE DON'T BREAK YOUR KNIVES ON MY ACCOUNT!!!
Except for you Cliff, since I know that's your thing. Have at it!!!
