Ok troops I'm new to the Ratchet game. I'm looking at a Ratchet A2T. Can anyone give the "readers digest" version on the steel and blade compared to the Busse product?.I like this model and I'll be using it for some light camping. Thanks. Price is $150 shipped in "new" condition.

I love the Ratchet. I am a huge cleaver fan, and looked at the Ratchet as a smaller clever, so I have a somewhat different perspective than others.

The steel and Res c handle worked great for me.

I was not crazy about the performance(handshock on osage orange and lack of weight) since I get better results with a Ratweiler being batonned through my cut of wood.

Many people need a smaller, lighter, and more sheeple friendly package, however. Those are areas where the Ratchet shines.

The design also lends itself to use as an Ulu style blade very easily.

I feel the tan on tan is worth $150 shipped, but that is an opinion some will agree with, and some will not.

They will bring that on the market with time.

Good luck.

Very true. The performance is not amazing but it is particularly suited to a time when you need something small and sheeple friendly with Swamp Rat durability and confidence. I can make the Ratweiler perform much better chopping with the added bonus of batoning through wood.

Camping? Ratweiler.

Cleanup around NOLA? Ratchet.
