RatCutlery sheaths are not my fav. but at least they retain your blade.

I'll be hooking you up Bro.

Looking forward to playing with the blade too!

Oh I know! your work on that Izzy sheath was top notch, my brother loves that sheath.

Put it through the paces, keep it as long as you want....well untell I start getting lonely and crying.

You have the Fox River right?

Don't worry, I won't be stealing your blade. Just want to check it out.;)

To be honest, that was one of my secret motivations for starting to make sheaths in the first place. I get to play with a bunch of other blades that I wouldn't normally get a chance too.

The only problem I found with the BumbleBee knife was the sheath would not hold the knife after the jungle humidity started to take over. Lost it twice and luckily found it both times.

Sorry about your troubles. I know it's disapointing, but fixable. I agree with your original statement. My RC6 sheath is not the be all, end all sheath, but I like it alot for how I use it.

As nice as leather is, I think kydex and kydex lined cordura sheaths are actually better for tropical environments. Maybe even better for all outdoor use, since it can rain almost anywhere. I suppose you could hot wax treat the BumbleBee sheath and it would do better.

When I was hiking in the seven devils there was a crevace in the rock just wide enough to sqeeze through sideways with your pack off that the trail cut through. Wound up tearing my LMF off my pack strap. I didn't realize it was gone til I was down the mountain, had to go back up which was no easy task but I knew right where I lost it, at least.

The single biggest reason I bought my first RAT (an RC-4) was the sheath. They may not be pretty but like RAT knives, they just work. There is no other production knife company that offers more versatile sheaths out of the box than RAT Cutlery. Where else are you going to get a sheath that is belt, molle, and neck ready from the factory!?!?

My Aurora sheath is pretty loose after use now as well.

What I did was put a cord lock on my lanyard. Then I take the lanyard, loop it over the firesteel, and tighten the cord lock. Keeps it from coming out. I'm not able to get the knife out real quick, but I don't lose it either.
