RATMANDU or RODENT 5

My buddy ordered a RMD end of May.
Satin Blade....Red/Black G10....gimping at thumb.
They projected He'd have it in October......
1st week of November...no knife.....called em "where is my knife"
"Oh we are back logged....we apologize for the delay...you will definitely have it by December".
He got pissed and canceled the order!
.
Just say'in.....be prepared for a possible l o n g wait!

I have used a RMD to skin a deer and it worked just fine. The RMD is truley a all around great knife. Since the RMD did well at skinning, it was a good excuse to get the RMD BOWIE version from the custom shop. I have not been able to try it yet but know it will do a great job also. It was ordered a little thinner than stock with a full height V Grind and is razor sharp. I also did the same with a custom rodent solution. Your going to be pleased no matter your decision.

Hey guys, just a quick update. I've got my RMD for a few days. I ordered 2, 1 for a friend of mine and 1 for myself. Good knife, a little bit heavy (Im used to my SYKCO 511), the handle is really comfy. Will try it in the woods very soon.

Obviously late post....but I've been pretty impressed with my 2 INFI Ratmandus. They are the right size, width and I love the choil. All grips work well and the knife cuts very well. So far I like the INFI Ratmandus better than my SR-101. The INFIs have a 0 degree convex and the SR-101 has a saber grind. I thought there wouldn't be much difference but there is.

Geometry determines cutting ability/performance. SO there will of course be a difference in FFG and saber. No matter if the RMD is INFI or SR101 if they are ground and sharpened the same they will perform the same initially.... Alloy and HT help determine how long it keeps cutting. And you can order a SR101 knife FFG from the custom shop. So being INFI doesnt make it cut any better if all other things are equal. For a slicer i would always prefer FFG, for a knife i want to baton with i prefer a saber grind. So if i know my RMD would mostly be being used to slice and make normal general cutting chores then FFG it is... But if im shooting for a do it all camp wilderness knife then high saber would be preferred for me personally.

True. I will only consider INFI if I need a 9" plus chopper. For small to medium size blade, I prefer SR101 for better edge retention.

Well you know my choice of the 2

Did I miss something? I have not seen a single convex ground INFIdu all the ones I have seen have been saber ground.

Got it!!!
Honestly I think that's the one way the Swamp could improve on the RMD and that is to put a thinner convex edge on it.

You'll love 'em. Best knives made - any configuration. SOBs are great, but cost alot more.
