Ratmandu

Here's the RMD and matching HRLM I bought (I took the picture to post on the Scrap Yard forum, where I'm most active):

At the last Knob Creek (10/2009), I bought an outstanding Custom Shop Shadow Camo/Black G-10 RMD for $168.95 and standard Micarta-handled RMDs were selling for $138.95. Of course, that's retail before tax, not secondary market. A kydex sheath probably adds $50 or so to what they have in it. In my opinion, a markup of more than $50 on a knife that cost less than $150 only 2 months ago is unreasonable. Of course, my opinion doesn't matter -- the market value is as much as anyone will pay.

Actually bought a RMD (Thanks sleevefullofaces) and it's awesome. Of course I had to take it out and use it on some branches and brush just to see if what I'd read was true... after about an hour of chopping and batoning it still doesn't need sharpening. Now I just need to find a good sheathe for it. Any suggestions?

Glad you like it G!
There are quite a few good sheath makers on the boards. Are you looking at kydex or leather?

Probably kydex, since it rains a lot here and the leather could swell, shrink, or crack.

Kydex would probably be your best bet then. Buy Brown and Mashed Cat are top notch kydex sheaths. Steelnut and Rainwalker are supposed to be good as well but I don't have first hand experience with them.
