wow, a camp tramp just went for $280 and there are other rats on there too -- seems like some rats are jumping ship

Dang that's depressing.

I hope that the new line gets released soon. It's starting to be expensive to be a Rat. ;)

With that price tag, you're stepping into the Busse territory. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay my ass off for CT like that guy.

I fail to see why anyone would spend over 2x retail for a knife. I guess they expect the value to rise while it sits in their safe?

Happens when blades retail for half their worth. ;)

Quiet, you!
one more outburst like that and your security clearance will be revoked.:p

Not again!!

the thing that pisses me off is that people are selling these special run knives with 100% markup now when rats are hard to get and prices are out of hand. the thing is these people INTENDED to do this by buying multiple knives.

i luckily have the specials that i wanted BUT i could have EASILY bought like 10 rat daddy LE's and sold them for 600 or whatever these ridiculous prices are nowadays. but i chose to let others in on the fun. these people make me sick. denying knives to those who want them for personal profit...sigh...:grumpy:

Hey, it's a free country- everyone can do their own thing. If people want to be greedy that is their prerogative. you can chose to not do business with those people.

Yep - ditto on what RatF says - hey it's a free country.

Personally, I love what the ebay camp tramp seller said:
" ... I ordered it september 2005, and received it in February 2006..."

So some of the high prices are classic economics' supply and demand happening, and some could argue, capitalism at its best. For us newbies, supply is currently nil from srkw, save the folder.

I got the tan camp tramp a few weeks back, and I REALLY like the Res C handle, but me thinks (IMHO) that srkw will be giving way to the micarta handles - hopefully I'm wrong.

RatF -dude that avatar is gonna get me fired, BUT very much appreciated.

From the tidbits of info that Eric has given out, particularly in reference to the Company Store offerings, people really aren't loading up on these blades. He has stated in the past that almost all orders are for one blade with some orders for two. Very few above that. I don't think that anybody is abusing any purchase opportunities with the intent of resale.

However, as has been said, right now it is a sellers market. A lot of people who have never considered selling their blades are looking at the market and making tough decisions. I mean, I can tell you that I would never sell a particular blade, but when faced with an unbelievable price I may change my mind. ;)

At any rate, I hope that the new line is released soon. This is a sellers market, and I aim to buy.

Had a chance to buy a CT and a BR this weekend for retail from Thatmguy at the 1500 show. We talked about the ethics of buying it and turning around and putting it on Ebay. Ethic's and integrity won out.
Just my .02 worth.

That last CT is shipping out to one of ours who is shipping over!!

Glad it didnt' move.

That's pretty normal. People take advantage of the fact that demand is higher than supply and the new line is not here yet. A while ago, SFNO went for three times the original price:eek:

Looks like the value HAS risen since they were sitting in someone's safe.
