Our first outing of the season, which was late and I think stunted by our long winded winter. We didn't do too bad, about 2 lbs of morels. We usually do better in the higher elevations so I'm looking forward to that.
Right now we're finding them along the Yakima river, just about anywhere there are cottenwoods you could find some. Over the next few weeks they will go up in elevation. Try any of the forest service roads around the passes (if the snow is gone) and around the edges of deciduous trees. We also find a lot usually around buck brush. Last year in one afternoon we found 9 pounds. It was a good year!
