I have a dumbass relative in Tx that recently got bit by a cottonmouth water mocassin while reaching to get a golf ball out of a water hazard with his HAND! The anti-venin was almost $125,000!--KV
The cottonmouth is related to the copperhead, genus Agkistrodon. However, they are more agressive and their venom is more potent.
