I'm not sure where to ask this question, but I figured this may be the place. If I'm wrong, I'm sure a moderator will soon point me in the right direction;)
Anyway, my question is this, I've recently been given a rattlesnake skin. I know how what I'm going to do with it sheath wise, but I'm not sure of the best way.
Is it better to use the end nearer the tail where the scales are smaller or the head end where they are larger?
I'd rather get some advice before I start using it, as I'd hate to start cutting it up and get it wrong. After all, snake skins aren't too common in England!
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Ian.

You might get a better response if you post your question in the Sheath section. There are some true master sheath makers that hang out there. Good luck with your sheath.

Use the part that best fits your pattern ! Frequently that is the middle since that is the widest. I know that might souln like a smart-a-- answer , but is not intended to be. You should have at least 1/2 " border of skin wider than your pattern . Encluded is a pic of one recently completed .

Thank you for your replies. To be honest I've never noticed the sheath section before:rolleyes:
I'll re-post it in the right place now!
Lovely sheath by the way:)

Cheers, Ian
