Those are some great looking knives Vince, especially that giraffe bone.
Thanks freekboi,I like the smooth handled bone sometimes for work,my hands & pockets get loaded up with dust & paints and things, where jig bone and stag don't seem to work out too well.
I have to agree, too, for giraffe bone,it is good looking
I think that is a newer style knife from Ray Cover, same as Elliotts beauty.

Ray is my new favorite maker so yes, Vince, I like very much seeing them.

I called him this morning trying to track down a particular model. It was a joy talking with him. Said he was 68 (?) and not taking on any more orders. Said he would never stop making knives but is trying to cut way down so he can spend more time fishing. Then in the next breath he said he is about to send a big batch off for heat treat.:D I asked if he had any idea how many knives he made over the years. He figured around 4000.

That is interesting, and good to hear, that Ray Cover will still be making knives, but will take time to enjoy himself.
I once had a gorgeous jigged bone lockback,I wish I had that one now.
I've had a few,passed them on,and then obtained these,after realizing what great knives Ray makes.They just feel good,look good,cut good,and are solid!
Tight and snappy,can't beat that,you know ?

I really like the stag one. Looks like a good size for the pocket.

Those are all great looking knives. I really like that small stag number. Looks like I'm going to have to add a Cover to my collection.

Man those knives look familiar;) That Stag looks better than I remember, though:D

As many of you know...I know Ray quite well and the story Ray told Thomason is pretty much the same as has he been telling me...except Ray is 63 unless I missed his birthday. Most people don't realize the number of knives Ray has been putting out in the last few years and as much as I hate to see him slow down his production, I don't blame him a bit. On the other hand, Ray stopped taking orders for a while a couple of years back and then started taking a few again a short time later...he might change his mind again who knows:D I think you'll still see quite a few Ray Cover knives continue to show up for a good while.

Thanks for all the comments fellas.I am happy to show 'em,like I originally said....
Sooo,I guess,just keep those bibs on,and enjoy !!

Vince,

Just remember that it's never too early to get me a Christmas present. Don't worry, I'll act suprised when I open the box.

Mike,
I thought I taught you better than that (lol),I figured you'd say something like ,"make a nice July 4th holiday package" , or something like that.

They're certainly crisply executed and clean as a whistle! Bet they work nice too. :)

Wow...when you said you got some Covers, I didn't expect a whole stable. Nice ones, bud. Use'em well.
