Ray Cover Folders

I recently got ( from whome ? ) this 3 1/2 inch-closed one and it is really a "Hand-Schmeichler" (German) and I really "love" it :D ; sorry, I couldn't find the English word.

I got this recently, my first of Ray's work, and am blown away by it.

Here's one I haven't had out for a while. I sent pics of it to Thomason the other day...not to sell it, just for show! It's one of a kind.

I like the shape of the blade very much, Darwin, but not so much the shape of the handle - because it is not straight at the front.

Vince, Exceptional knives. The fixed blade just blows me away.
Thanks Frank, I have recently got back into Ray Covers knives. He makes a really well built gorgeous knife.
Thanks for adding all the pictures guys,
-Vince

Always glad to post one of Ray's knives. Just received this one from David on the exchange (using his picture, too).
Similar to Vince and Elliott's jigged bone slipjoints shown. 3 1/2-inch, ATS-34.
Ray told Elliott and me at Blade that he was taking off in his R.V. soon, but planned on keeping some knives coming out of the shop when he wasn't on the road. Let's hope!

I don't know how I missed this thread the first time around, but I'm glad I got to see those fine Ray Covers now.

I'm just a tad partial towards `em myself.:)

A great group of folders you guys are showin' here.

Until this thread I had always had mixed feelings about Ray's knives. They were, of course, finely crafted, but, (blame it on the photography?) out of balance or proportion to me. Fortunately, when finding the opportunity to purchase one, I jumped on it (last week?), bought it, and said, "What the hell..."

Since receiving this knife I can't put it down. It's one of Rays more humble offerings (compared to some in this thread) but it feels so right in the hand! Very well balanced, beautiful fit and finish... I just can't say enough about it - so I won't...

The folders are very nice. I've never seen any of Ray's work except for a pair of riverboat daggers that I got in a trade. They're very nice too.
