Hey Brett, that is a little beauty ! I looked at the small ones for a long time but decided to go with the larger one, but I may just have to get the small one too.
I'm just north of Tulsa but I will be sure to find you and introduce myself while we're there
So yours is a small model, Brett? I did not ever know Ray made two sizes. Better run add one of those to my wish list. I like it a lot.
I know I am pushing things a bit, but this one gets about as traditional as it gets. (and since we are on a Ray thread) and there is a little history involved and it is my "other area of knife collecting" since you never know when ya might have to dag someone.)
This is Ray's quillion dagger that he made for his M.S. test.

I asked Ray if I could commission it in 2000 (before he got his J.S. stamp) and he went for his M.S. in 2005. I have brother Blues to thank for introducing us.
As you can see, he is a man of many talents.
I'll definitely make sure I introduce myself also. I'm 5 7 240 and bright red hair. can't miss me. Kind of like a portly ronald mcdonald....

I grabbed....grab em now! Brett

Ironwood and damascus on the way. Ray called it an Oosti (baby) folder. (I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Oosti is a Cherokee word for baby.)
The word "Oosti" does mean "baby" in Cherokee. Since I have altered the original folder and retained what I thought were the better points of construction, it needed another name beside "Small Scagel".
I would like to thank all my friends for the kind words and always look forward to meeting you again. Good friends that I have made through my association with making knives, are some of the best friends in the world.
I will be in Grapevine, Tx this coming week end to visit some of these friends.
