I need a good all around small axe or hatchet and am interested in these axes. If anyone with more experience with these axes, or any for that matter has any suggestions on what a good choice would be it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to break the bank either lol. If you have any other suggestions as to what brand or type of axe would be good for the general things i would love that too. Thanks.

Ray Mears is probably on Youtube.com, discussing his choice in axes.

I believe he likes Gransfors Bruks' Small Forest Axe. I've got one, and it is nice. The only problem with shorties, is that if you miss what you're chopping, you'll tend to bean your leg [unless you squat down to chop, as Mears advises].

Yea, I would check out a Small Forest Axe from Gransfors Bruks, or if you want something
bigger Scandinavian Axe from them. If you want something cheaper,
check out Wetterlings as well.
Cheaper still are Fiskars Axes, cannot be beaten for the price.

A price range would help?
