Get an Enzo Trapper in 01.Great knife!
Bensbackwoods has them (the online store).

I've been trying to order one in O1 from Bensbackwoods for twoo weeks now (the kit or the complete knife) and I always get an error saying there are 0 available.

its cause everyone loves the enzo soooooo much. actually its jsut a great knife for an even better price. keep checking back and try to get one. getting it in d2 is also an option unless you have your heart set on 0-1.

I prefer a Mora because...

1. I don't want to be afraid to beat up the knife.

2. I let me camping buddies use it for tasks care free.

3. I've lost a knife once or thrice while being in a hurry.

4. I have never felt my knife 'couldn't do something' bushcraft related. It cuts just as well as anything I've used and is easy to sharpen.

5. I have been known to leave my knife outside the shelter in the pouring rain after a few beers(I swear it was only once!:D)

HOWEVER - I use a small axe/hatchet for any heavy work because I think they are better suited for a lot of stuff than a small knife is. So If you are the 'All I need is my knife' type you may want to get something that is a little more sturdy for batoning.

If I was going to spoil myself and get something pricier... The new Spyderco bushcraft knife looks promising. Blind Horse Knives has a bushcrafter out that looks beautiful and is very reasonably priced. Or I would grab one from one of the knife makers we have in-house on this forum.

I can't really justify spending more than 100 bucks on a knife though. There are more than enough quality knives under that price tag. Hell, the knife I carry and use the most is a $14 glorified paring knife.

Good luck, let us know what you pick up.

patrickknives on ebay has a carbon steel Enzo kit.
I usually go with Bensbackwoods but patrickknives had them on sale for a really good price a few months back so i bought my Enzo from them.
Patrickknives prices seem to have gone up quite a bit since then though.
If it was me i'd email bensbackwoods and ask about availability.
Maybe they are restocking soon and you can reserve one?

Personally I find it helpful if a specific name brand is mentioned that a link is provided to that person's site. It would help someone like the OP who is'nt very familiar with what is out there go take a look for himself and make comparisions based on price, quality, steel, etc IME. Just a note for the future to keep in mind.....

Well in this sub-forum the mood is friendly and the mods are great and easy going regarding linking to specific items at specific sites.
But in other sub-forums if you link to a specific item (especially one for sale with a price listed) they will give you a demerit or warning and call it "deal-spotting".
In another forum recently there was a thread that was titled something like "where can i find/where do you guys get product X?".
I posted a link to an ebay dealer site which had the item among hundreds of other items. Note i did not link to the specific product just the general store.
That earned me a deal-spotting warning.
:(
(Well at least it wasn't an infraction/demerit)
So indiscriminate linking can get you in trouble, be careful.

I've been on BF for years and thats only the second time i've had any problems or gotten any warnings/demerits.

The other time was in a thread another member started (in a sub-forum other than this one) that posted pics of a hot chick (Mila Jovovich) with knives.
Apparently certain words are too strong for some folks.
What i said was "d*mn! Shes fine and totally kicks *ss!"
That sentence earned me a demerit/infraction.
Well after that i stayed out of that sub-forum, haven't been back since.
Traumatized me it did,
;)
But seriously i understand its not easy being a mod and you need some rules but still i almost decided then and there to find somewhere else online to hang out.
Thankfully for me i cooled off and stuck around here anyway.

But since then i've had the h*bit of rem*v*ng vowels from certain w*rds in case someb*dy with sensitive sensibilities is reading/watching.lol.
:D

I mostly hangout in here nowadays, i love this sub-forum, its the best and most information rich sub-forum and has the best cast of regulars and the best mods!

SWC is hard to beat if you want a copy of the Woodlore. He's pretty fast too.

Also he will tweak it how you want it. I had one done with a fatter blade by him.

However his blades are differentially tempered so the spine won't spark a firesteel as well.

The only thing I don't like about the Woodlore is the blade is 4mm. But I had SWC make my wife one in 3mm so he can do it.

IMO a lot of people copy the Woodlore type blade shape more or less but for comfort I think the HANDLE on them is unbeatable.

I also prefer the Skookum cause the blade is thinner but if I had a 3mm Woodlore it would win out because of the handle.
