His horse shoe knives almost never need re-sharpening. One customer skinned out 13 elk and he has never sharpened his knife. He has made falcon hunting Damascus knives for an Arab King. I have bought many knives from him. I only buy full tang knives for greater strength! He uses a space age cooling liquid to squinch cool his knives. He wrote the book on the break down of metal properties in outer space. This book is in every language of every country that adventures in space. He used to teach black-smithing at the local college in Idaho. Self taught and he has never been to a knife show ever. He read many books on knife making and he never watched anybody make a knife. He turned down head of research and development at NASA to make knives/hunt in his retirement. He knows more about metal than any blade-smith or black smith in the world. His leather is superb and he can draw anything cool on that leather. This man is getting old "78"and he will make knives till he drops dead. He just had his 2nd heart surgery ! He is tough as nails !
