Selling a couple of blocks from a batch I had done by K&G. I love this stuff, it works very well, seems very stable, and just looks unique. I've posted a couple of knifes I used it on as examples. These two blocks are far superior to the example.
These blocks are only sanded to 60 grit and lightly buffed to show some figure. They will finish up much nicer at 1200 and buff.
The side grain differs from the top grain significantly and causes a pretty cool transition on rounded handle shapes.

$50 each plus shipping.

1.12 x 1.56 x 4.93
1.05 x 1.6 x 5.16

What causes the oak to grow like this? Oak is typically a very straight grained wood? Is this harvested from a root ball under pressure or is this caused from a viral infection like most burls are? Its very unique to say the least.

I don't know, but I love it. It is not burl wood. It is not root wood.
I have some bits that seem to be spalted or some similar type of fungal or bacterial infection causing black and lighter yellow streaks. It's pretty cool.
