Lucas,

Normally I would address this privately as that is more appropriate, but since you decided to go public w/ this I will have to address it since everything you said in the two posts above is false.

Let me address these in order... Maybe you would rather put it in a more appropriate place such as The Good, Bad, and Ugly section of the forum? That's what that section is for as others have posted reviews about my reputation which can been seen here, here, and here.

So you had to explain to me what you wanted done over and over for 3 days before I could tell you what I can and can't do? I don't think so. We discussed, initially, anodizing your Chaves 228 in a copper/bronze color. Your package arrived on (on Sat. the 26th) and I emailed you and let you know the same day (a non business day) to which you replied and asked when I would be able to get to it. I let you know that it was 4-7 business days on custom work (which you had a problem with?? Turn around time is specified at the top of the Mail-in Sharpening page that you had to go to to fill out the form...).

So on Sunday (my day off) I disassembled it because I wanted to start tumbling it to get it polished for the ano. At that time I checked the thumb stud (which you specified you wanted anodized) I found that it was not titanium but rather steel (which cannot be anodized). So I contacted you immediately (verified by date/time stamp over text) and let you know (in a phone call), at which point you decided to bronze cerakote it with a two tone look (Cerakote turn around is 1-2 weeks as I tell all my customers who ask - so this would have justified a delay since you changed your order). Regardless, I added it to the current batch of Cerakote and coated it Wednesday and sent you pictures. It then left (was dropped off at the post office) on Thurs 10/1 as the tracking number (9410811899563833710583) clearly shows. It's funny to me that you are making such a big deal about this when the scheduled deliver day is TODAY :) Most people give it a week or so... as a matter of fact, you can't even file a USPS claim until 15 days have passed.

So as I've shown, I didn't "forget where the post office was" and actually turned around your knife rather quickly compared to most of my other customers. As far as sending me several texts and emails... I have responded to everyone that I know of, and most of those responses were practically immediate. I have no idea about any address change or it being returned to sender... I certainly did not request that and I did not appreciate your "boy" calling to threaten me telling me he will "see me later today" since he is in NC?? Wow... lol.

Here you can see (albeit small, could not figure out how to resize it) a pic of my Stamps.com log and you can see the date and that I got $600 insurance as you requested, so that is also false. You can call Stamps.com to verify if you wish. I am guessing you are seeing on the USPS website where it says "Up to $50 insurance included" and thought that's all I got?

So in summary... If I had wanted to steal your knife I would not have gone to all the trouble to take pictures, mail it out, and then request that it get returned to me. I also would not have stolen your Chaves because that is on the lower end price wise of some of what I work on ($2k-$9k customs).

Also it should be noted that you opened a dispute through Paypal about the $ you paid me for my work on your Chaves. I am not some "fly by night" knife pimper... I am a professional that does this full time for a living (after recently quitting my local law enforcement job of 10 years) and enjoy what I do. I have a track record dating back 4 years consisting of about 45 5-star reviews.

Have a great weekend! :)

I managed to get it to you right away per our conversation over the phone. If you weren't going to work on it upon you receiving it you should have said so. Yes it was kinda fast...??? ...you did forget to do sone work and as per our conversations you declined to do other work i requested because of your lack of skill and not wanting to work on such a high priced knife.
We spoke over the phone hours ago...why are we having this discussion again...????
Point is USPS is telling me one story and you are telling me another. Why they would tell me the sender requested the package be sent back to them is beyond my imagination. I have to think that only happens when it happens lol.
Until I receive my knife....which got to you flawlessly....i will continue to inquire about it and leave all claims open.
On a side note....I had less work done then many others on this thread yet paid more.

Im not knocking your work as I haven't gotten to see the finished product yet. Hopefully i do lol. From the pictures it looks great. I didn't even know you had a website...let alone a waiting list.
My point about having this conversation is that I already heard this over the phone. So its just you wanting everyone else to hear ? Fine by me. I posted on here because I sent several texts and email over the past 2 days when I saw it wasn't moving. Ive said all I'm going to or have to say Josh. Hopefully this will work itself out.

Josh: I have never done business with you; I wish I had. Nice touch of class and self-control.

The only reason I responded was because you chose to post this here. I don't tell all my customers the specific turn around time unless they ask - it's posted in big bold red letters at the top of my "Mail-In Sharpening" page (which I referred you to on our initial phone conversation) which you would have had to view prior to sending me the knife (that's where my address and the mail-in form are). Yes, I forgot to coat the two pocket clip screws, I just matched the rest of the screws so the theme goes together. Since I forgot that's why I knocked a little off of the price.

Regarding "work on such a high priced knife": Yes, I did decide to pass on the regrind conversion you were initially wanting for 2 reasons... 1. it's difficult to do a conversion and 2. I limit myself to not regrinding knives over $500 in value in case something were to go wrong (rare, but it happens because I do everything by hand). When I informed you of this you were grateful that I knew and stated my limitations so as to not take a chance. So it's not that I don't work on high priced knives - I do it all the time - I just don't regrind them.

Suggestion... google something about USPS problems with customer service and you will find a million horror stories - I would not put too much stock in "what they tell you" lol.

My prices are my prices, if you don't like it then I suggest you find another service provider.

Thanks buddy, I would be glad to work for you any time :)

Wow. Some people are out of control.

Josh, I'm sorry you have to deal with this crap.

Yet another example of entitled babies that should never do business with anyone except each other....

First of all, Josh is the most honest, hard working, AND talented person I have had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time.

Second. I have sent him more knives to get worked on than the OP owns, and if you include the work done of by Josh on people's knives, people I know very well, they are all more then happy with Josh and his work.
Point is, your attempt at character assination is at best, incorrect.

Third. You are not Josh's only customer....surprise....you got your knife done much faster than anyone else I talk to that has dealt with Josh.
If speed is your main concern, then ask those questions up-front...

Fourth. You need to relax. As in RELAX. USPS can be a mess sometimes. Tracking can be a mess sometimes. It doesn't mean your knife is anything else but on it's way to you.
Josh mails the knife, sends you tracking....would you like him to put it into your arms as well?

You need to wait for an issue and then complain about it, not make the issue...

As far as Josh's "lack of talent" that's just a cheap shot, and obviously you know nothing about the subject. There are things that Josh can't/won't do, he has his reasons, and I would rather someone do what they are good at then try to do "anything" just to please everyone....we all know how that will end.

Recognizing your strengths and weaknesses, IS one of his strengths....

I would like to point out that you posted this on a public forum. Any of us are allowed to respond, as you are allowed to post freely. If you didn't want others input, you should have talked this over with Josh privately, which you say you did, but obviously not completely or to your satisfaction. That is no one fault but yours, as I know Josh does an A+ job of communication as well as being understanding.

Josh owns his business, and can therefore make his own choices on the work he does. If he chooses not to regrind your blade based on its value, as im sure he has with others, that is his choice.

Kudos to you Josh on a proper and polite response, as well as being able to decipher what was intended, as the punctuation and spelling is lacking.

Really? You are the one that took it public with an unclear and condescending first post. If you have a grievance, clearly state how the order of events played out and back it up with emails, texts, or other evidence. Not just an incomprehensible one sided story.

REK's version is much more clear and he actually show proof behind what he's saying.

Also, a little patience never hurt. He shipped it Thursday, not quite enough time to hit the panic button. Plus USPS tracking can be wonky at times with delayed updates or packages sitting in random states for a day or two.

So why bring it up here? All I can say is I will continue to send my knives to Josh.
Im not telling anyone not to. I posted on here after no response from several texts and emails. Again if people would read they have less questions.

Ok ok....there are more of you momo's on here then me. I get it...hes like your god on here lol. Like i said before i spoke with josh over the phone earlier and we left it at that. Then i guess he grew internet balls and made some posts that revved up the josh following.

Hardly.

I for one have never done business with him and while I'm sure I've seen his posts, I don't ever recall directly conversing with him on the forums.

Try and take a step back, forget this happened to you and then reread this thread as if you were an uninvolved third party. How does it come across?
