Razor Edge?

Before Christmas I ordered a Razor Edge guide for blades over 3.5", the kind that clamps to the spine of the blade. Had it sent to a relative's address in the US where we would be going, as the mailing charge to Canada cost than the guide itself (around $25 US). A few weeks later Razor Edge refunded my purchase price (but not the $10 postage), without explanation. I emailed the company but have received no reply, after nearly two months. Pretty poor service IMHO.

So, did you get the Razor Edge guide or not? I can't tell for sure from your post. If you didn't get it, then I can see why you have a problem. If you did get it, then a refund less shipping still puts you ahead. Although, why would they refund you unless you returned the item?... Doesn't make sense....

Most companies won't refund shipping anyway, though some may pay return shipping if they screwed up your order, for example....

They might have refunded due to the address not matching that associated with whatever payment method you used - but, it should have been sooner than two weeks and included the shipping cost if they didn't ship.
Just out of curiosity, did you ask your family if the item arrived? Any chance they returned it?

Much as I hate this option - try calling the company. Their number is all over the place. (Odd that it's a 2024 site from a company that's got a history; but I'm the distrustful type)

They might have done you a favor, the book is good for theory but the guided system changes angles on you as you go because it also rides on the stone along with your knife edge.
 
No, my family never received the guide. I contacted Razor Edge for an explanation but never received an answer. I'm still out the $10 for postage. Won't bother dealing with RE again.
 
Ok, understood. I wouldn't do business with such a company (again) either. I hope that one day they refund the $10 'cause that was b.s. in not refunding it, and especially in not responding to you in a timely manner.

It's good they refunded you for the guide, at least you're not out that money, but yeah, I get why you're ticked about this.

Customer service ain't what it used to be...
