Rc-3 -4 -5 -6???

From the OP's description I think the RC-6 is the best choice. In other words, he made the right choice by my books. I think the RC-6 is the best of the lot when it comes to stand alone camp knives.

I have a Izula, RC3-MIL, and a RC5. The 2 I take camping the most is the RC5 and the Izula. If I am just going for a day hike in the woods I take the RC3-MIL.
You really can't go wrong

Dreadbeard, where about do you live in melbourne ?.... Still an Rc4

Belgrave mate, Out in leafy suburbia part way up the Dandenongs.

Thank you to everyone for your informative reply's I am leaning heavily towards the RC-4 or 6.

As for the Dealers/retailer shipped from knifeconnection or knivesshipfree look to be my best bet.

Something else to consider, here in Kentucky we can carry a blade openly, or concealed with a permit. The RC-4 carries nicely but I think the RC-6 would be a little large for everyday carry.

The position is will be filling is my primary large bush/survival knife.

I want it to be able to perform well in the place of an axe or a saw for fire and shelter.
Sorry, I just reread your original post. I wouldn't call the RC-4 "Large" so it sounds like you're leaning towards the RC-5 or 6.

Howdy,

I have the RC-4 and feel it is about the perfect knife for all around useage. I carries great on the belt and great for general purpose bushcraft usage.

I personally don't like to carry a blade longer than the RC-4 (or any heavier) on a daily basis when I'm out in the woods.

Of course I always carry a large caliber single action revolver, and a multi tool on my belt in addition to the RC-4! My belt loading is probably different than yours!

Dreadbeard, +1 on knivesshipfree.
I've had good dealings with them in the past and cheap shipping.
