I have seen a few people on youtube and other places use their RC-3 as a neck knife and kit. I dont have the RC-3 yet but my rat pack one should be on its way! I have the RC-4 and Izula and was wondering if anyone else wore it as a Neck Kit Knife. It would seem to heavy to me but apparently ppl do it. Just wondering your guys opinions and pics if you have them. Sorry just have to satisfy my RC-3 Knife porn fix until December....

using an RC3 for a necker to me is a doable but kinda big IMO, I personally would not do it,that is what the Izula/HEST is for to me

I don't think the RC-3 would be too bad, but as TTD said the Izula really fills that niche.

I have taken my RC-4 and tested in as a neck knife and while not uncomfortable, I think it's a little bulky to wear all day. Worst that could happen is that you order an RC-3, don't like it as a neck knife, then have to wear it on your belt. Oh no! :D

It's doable. It'll be noticeable, but if you can wear it with the collar of a shirt or jacket underneath it's much better.

I wore the rc-3 as a necker during my survival comp entry and had no major issues out within that setting.
Now in my current lifestyle as an edc, no way; first and foremost it is not secure and is going to bounce around off my fabio like peckorials, second; bending and moving around the handle ribs you and just plain gets in the way. thirdly, there are just a ton of better knifes better suited for the role.

Why use a lambo to haul hay? Unless of course its your only option, and if it is your only option pm me and i will take the lambo on exchange for hualing all the hay for you. :D

Sean where are you in SWVA? Roanoke area here. As for the neckers. I can do the Izula all day long and the HEST is really uncomfortable. The pry bar gets me in my gut. It does work ok under your arm but also not as good as the Izula. So as for the RC3 as a necker I guess its doable but why really?

I've worn the RC-4 as a necker while I'm sitting in a boat. You are sitting down all the time and the knife at your belt isn't very accessible. In a boat though, I have the right body shape, where my gut sort of supports the weigt of my RC-4. Thus it isn't hard on the neck and I can access it to bonk the fish when I need it.

I did it for a while and I didn't find it to bulky, but the weight wasn't comfortable on my neck. Maybe if you had a collar/mock turtle neck shirt under it it would work.
