One more comment on the H.E.S.T. being on urban survival knife. I don't know who started this, but I wish it would stop. The H.E.S.T. is the Hostile Environment Survival Tool, a multipurpose backup in any survival situation. That few other similar knives get seen as urban essentials might leave the field to the H.E.S.T. but it would make a useful tactical tool in a combat environment also. Makes a reliable woods knife. Play with it enough and you'll think it was designed for you.

200% agree with you. I've tried to quench that cliché too on many thread. The HEST like the ESEE3 is a great woods knife. The HEST is such a reliable companion for adventures, big or small, on any terrain and any wilderness. The HEST is NOT restricted to aftermath urban environment. It's not restricted at all. This is one of the strenght of its clever design. The HEST is not specialized. It is pure polyvalence and a real confortable workhorse.
