RC 3 with pointed pommel ?

Just picked up a NIB RC3 with a pointed pommel...It's not a MIL version...I assume this was an early run at Rowen? If someone could confirm this it would be appreciated...thanks
 
Rat Cutlery makes a version of the normal RC-3 with a rounded pommel and a pointed one and is NOT a earlier prodiction run.
