rc-4 destruction test

I am very impressed by that test! I have a RC3 that I use regularly, and now I have to get the RC4 too. After seeing that the HT on these blades is so good, I would love to see a frame lock folder with an RC3 blade on it. That would rock!!!

:p I couln't find one at the show....not ONE. No problem though, I got a blaze orange and od RC-4 off knivesshipfree.com I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Very glad to see the RC-4 perform so well, thanks to both Noss and the RAT team, now I have to get out there and use mine.:D

Noss, just saw the rating the RAT got, was the reason it only got 4 stars only the failure? I couldn't hear any sound on the videos due to a malfunction with the computer, but looked like a solid 5 to me.:D Though as you say in the disclaimer in your site, " The final judgement is yours."
Cheers mate.

WOW! My RC-4 just came in the mail today from knivesshipfree.com (great place with great prices and quick shipping) and it's absolutely wonderful! The fit and finish is excellent leaving nothing to be desired. The plunge/ricasso is completely even/uniform, the thumb ribbing is uniform/even, the scale to tang fit is completely flush, there aren't any sharp edges other than the one meant for cutting....which is also very good and uniform, the tip is even, the coating is uniform, logos are uniform and the sheath is well fit and nicely constructed.

The only two things I would have liked more would have been for there to be a tek lok included with the knife instead of those cheap o clips (but I had one lying around, so problem solved) and for the choil to be around...maybe slightly less, than .250'' or so bigger because I've got fat fingers. It still works though. Even though the scales are smooth, they're rough enough to provide a solid grip and all the screws in it are fit flush and even. You can't ask for more in a knife than this. Combined with the lifetime warranty I understand why you all like these knives soo much. I can't speak of performance....YET ;) as I haven't got the chance to use it, but that should change soon.

Thank you for the welcome and the info from all who helped me, I'm glad I got this knife. For what you get, it's a BARGAIN!!

Thank for the comments. We also believe that RAT Cutlery is one of the true bargains on the market for the quality and warranty that we offer.

Thanks,

Jeff

This does not surprise me. I expected nothing less from RC. Well done Jeff and Rat Cutlery

I'm not 100% positive but you can plan on late in the year or later last I heard. Start saving up :p.

:p I just noticed how much I just used that word.....I was running of hardly any sleep earlier :D was the best I could do. Serously though, I'm very stoked on this knife and uniformity is a HUGE compliment for a knives finish. I can't say HOW many knives I've found to be uneven in some way or another. I've even had knives where the primary grind wasn't completely centered (one side was ground in more than the other). Slightly so on a Sebenza (though it was the ONLY time I'd seen that on any CRK). And many times on Busse's. The worst was a BM-e that I had where one side of the ricasso was like a saber grind in height and the other was full. Horrible for a knife of that caliber to have so basic a flaw. Though the only problem I've seen on any newer Busse was a bad edge grind....which really isn't too much of a problem since I always put my own edge on anyhow. But I just can't find anything that really detracts from the knife and find many things I REALLY like! I can't wait to get out and use this thing!

Sounds good. Lets do it. Thanks.

That's very impressive RAT Co. Great to see the man behind the company has his finger on the pulse

Although the RC-4 didn't gel for me in-hand, it did look great. My dad thinks it's the best tool he has ATM. That knife gets punished, still going strong ;)
