Hi folks,

I just purchased a RC-4 from our friend Threatx3, and was wondering if you guys can give me some ideas on how you guys carry the RC-4, and what are some of your mods you put on yours? Pics are always welcome, and I will post some soon. I'm not to familiar with Molle attachments so throw out some ideas here to help me .

Molle clips are great attachments for the right applications like vests and packs with such systems. TeckLocks are convenient, but more than what is necessary for good retention, I feel. I lash my ESEEs to my belts with para cord.

I find it's a very solid retention method in both vertical and horizontal positions. Perhaps not as convenient on and off, but less bulky and lighter.

For me, the most comfortable way is on the belt with the molle back.

Big fan of the paracord belt loops myself (just the simple version as shown on the instructions) but am currently going to give the molle back a try. The versatility of the ESEE sheath system is quite impressive. Jeff and Mike are geniuses.

I like the light wieght option of the paracord too, and the tech lock will that also strap to single molle straps?

TekLoks don't work with molle systems without some kind of additional adaptation with paracord, for example. Use the molle locks for molle carry systems.

Molle Back with 5/6 Pouch and tin. Works well on a pack, and horizontal or vertical carry on the belt.

Large Tek-Loks are designed to attach items to molle gear. That's what the slots are for.

Yeah, perhaps I should have said they don't work 'very well' instead. To me that's almost as good as not at all.

Aside from being very hard and tight to get on, they are not very stable when you finally do without additionally tying down the sheath with paracord or cable ties as it only makes use of one molle. To get it off is another story yet.

A couple of molle locks are a much better solution.

Here is how I attached the 4 to my Maxpedition Proteus. The Proteus is the basis for my PSK. I don't have it completed yet, but I am working on it. The bag will be part of a larger Go Bag once it is completed.

I originally thought to use the Molle back but couldn't get it to work right, so I switched it to the locks. I'm happy with how it came out.

Oh, and the red paracord is protecting a strap on the bag. I have a tendency of nicking the strap when I unsheath the knife. Now, I will cut the paracord that can be replaced easily.

I see so you can use the Molle slats horizontally and vertically, Thanks for the link Tony

So it appears that my RC4 did not come with the molle attachments so what should I do know techlock ????????

The large Tek-Lock does not fit properly on the E4 sheath. The holes do not line up. The MOLLE clips work well but not for how I carry on the belt. I don't care for the para-cord belt attachment.

My only other option is to have my sheaths made to fit my needs.

Incorrect. The Tek-Lok was designed for use on belts. It was not designed for use with MOLLE gear. The slots are there to simply give the side retaining clips flex to remove it from the belt.

decklin, I see you have a pouch on your esee 4 sheath. Can you tell me more about that. I would like a similar set up for my esee 4 but didnt see any on the web sites I checked out.

Sorry bro, but no. Like Ken said, the slots are there for the needed flex for unlocking. They also hold the optional safety shim that prevents unlocking.

ETA: Not to say that it can't be used as such though.

Tried it. Doesn't work.

Well there ya go . I haven't tried it or heard from anyone that had and didn't wanna say it absolutely couldn't.
