I put a Strike Force fire starter and a EZE-LAP Diamond sharpening rod in mine.
Changes:
Added a small coil of 550 cord that sits nicely in the bottom
Wrapping the fire starter and sharpener in a small lightly oiled cloth. It keeps things more secure and the cloth comes in handy.
condoms...........
just kidding, nothing yet, but plan a fire steel, and maybe sharpening device, small stone or diamond sharpener, a combo tool might be good too.....
Have used these diamond/ceramic stones for years and they do a pretty good job on all steels , even the extreme hard stainless steels.
Excellent for field sharpening and hoping to find something similar as a RAT Cutlery Company accessory in the near future.
They brought out a great firekit and I sure hope they will come out with what they think is the best field sharpener for their line of knives.
Maybe even accompanied by a kydex loop to attach to their kydex sheaths.
A knife/sharpener combination together with the firekit would be all that I need on a day in the woods.
But the RC-5 sheath pouch will definitively hold the DC3 or DC4 stones.
