Rc-5 Sere

I mocked it up in Photoshop and I do realize that the skull has WAY too much detail for lasering on to powder coat. I like your suggestions. Would like to have the banner resembling a tab though. What's your thoughts on this? (not disregarding everyone else's suggestions but Bare Rib hit the nail on the head for me with this artwork). Anyway, I'll pass your suggestions on to our graphic artist who puts everything into a vector line art file for the laser. Appreciate it.

As for the "tab" or "banner"... the reason for it so we can replace USAF with USMC, USN, etc. and keep the same logo that is unique only to RAT Cutlery and not a particular military branch. That way all we're changing is text.

Text would be kept essentially the same. Oh, wings aren't required either:p

I think some are getting caught up that they will all say USAF. From Jeffs post I'm taking it that this is just an example that can be changed for the purchaser.

Now for clarification, what will the average public model have printed on it?

If I was deciding it, I'd use a compass rose instead. :)
But then the tab would have to say * wilderness walker *

I would buy a RC knife regardless of the logo, that being said I won't drink kool-aid just to flatter the designer/owner. ( I apologize if your just someone who REALLY LIKES skulls) It just seems to me that it's possible America has seen enough death and destruction symbols. Maybe promoting patriotism, like the colonies flag or the "Don't tread on me" symbol is what people/buyers even around the world would appreciate. Freedom, Independence, Strength and self reliance , thats the mindset I have when I buy life sustaining gear. Maybe we should just let Blackwater or Megadeath have the skulls for a while. The Rat skull is pretty cool though :) Just 2 cents.

I agree that yes, the world has seen enough death. But dont forget, the RC-5 SERE is a blade constructed for and mostly by the military SERE instructors. And, I promise you from experience, the military LOVES there skulls.. Big skulls, little skulls, grinning skulls, crying skulls... Guy skulls, animal skulls.. Colorful skulls.. Cross gender deformed dwarf skulls holding little baby butterflies with paisley scarfs and matching...Ooops.. Ok the last part was me not military.
Anyhow, I think RC is aiming for a logo in the spirit of the blade and the people who make SERE happen, not so much an open flaunting of death.

Anyhow, just my .02

Jeff Honestly I didnt even know I had won. I guess if ya snooze ya loose. I should hve been checking that thread. I just completey forgot about the necker contest. DAMN IT

It's all good. Got your emails. I was out in the woods all day yesterday with a team of guys doing some map and compass work, so I'm just now getting around to checking emails and the forum. I sent your address on to Rowen and they should get your neck knife out next week.
