RC hardness for survival knife?

This thread is almost 8 years old, but I think it's still very relevant. I wonder what has changed in those 8 years. CPM3V is now a big contender in the bushcraft/survival market, and maintains excellent toughness above 60HRC.

We are also seeing more of other promising steels like CTS-XHP and sleipner.

If this thread (or one like it) re emerges in another 8 years I wonder what will be out there then...
 
No because diamonds were invented before that time .How do I know ? because my first EZE-LAP sharpener is stamped with their CA address !!!
Power tools for sharpening is not a good idea as it can easily damage the HT !
