RC knives and rust.

I lived in hawaii for 5 years -I feel your pain. Not only is does humidity range from 75-80%, but there is a constant ocean breeze -which means salt is everywhere.

I like to use vaseline on my knives -I think it lasts longer and does't come off as easily as oils do.
 
The climate in which you live really dictates how you need to care for your blades as far as rust management goes. There are a ton of products out there that are specifically designed to prevent rust, any of these (or simpler around the house solutions) all combat rust quite well. How long they will work for with each application is the question usually. Living in New England I don't have much of a problem with severe humidity nor salty air so a quick rub down with some oil lasts my blades quite a long time. On the other hand someone who lives in a place like Hawaii may need to take their blades out every couple of days to reapply the rust inhibitor of choice.
