Rc3&4 + Proto type Necker

That I will.....I can see a Green one for sure and a tan one on down the road....I know I will get one of each in the RC3 varity, and a green RC4. but we shall see how the funds go...

Man I have never dealt with better customer service, these guys are the best. Oh and Ditto on the full flat grind. That is probably the single most attractive quality of the RAT lines. And the main reason I buy them. And with the service recieved I will always recommend them.

Mine still isn't here....... Oh dear Lord, the anticipation is slowly killing me.

I got up at 4 to check the mailbox, nothing but bills and ads.... I just chucked it all into the street, wife can pick it all up later. Then I went back in to bed and cried myself back to sleep.

Your not alone brother, mine also didn't come yet :(

But if I did that with the mail, my wife woulda wupped my but:eek:

MINE ARRIVED YESTERDAY! This blade is f@#$ing sweet!

Things I did right off the bat:
As much as I liked the workme finish it had when it got here, I went ahead and did what I had already planned on doing, which was remove that finish and polish it up.
I cord wrapped the handle with black paracord much the same as Brett's wrap.
Made a kydex sheath for it.
I'll post pictures when I get home today. It is BADASS.

You said that there was one that went out that had a full flat ground blade?

Mine looks just like yours so it wasn't me.

Maybe today will be the day for me, I can only pray. I am stuck at work till 8pm tonight:mad:

Dylside I can't wait to see your pics man, will you be willing to sell those kydex sheaths of yours for the Izula?

I'll have to crank a few out and see how I feel about them. The one I made yesterday was absolutely perfect, but lately I've been in a rut. They just don't seem to turn out like I want. If they look perfect, I'd be more than happy to accomidate. The one I did for mine is a really simple neck rig. It is a pretty flat, no belt loops or anything, just six eyelets. That way if you want to use it as a regular sheath, you have but to run some paracord through a couple of holes and tie a knot. I can't decide whether or not to do my usual drain hole at the tip of the blade so the owner can flush the sheath out if the get dirt in it. I guess I'll leave it up to you guys. If you want it, I'll do it. I'll post the pics when I get home and you guys see what you think.

How difficult would it be to put a spring clip on the back of the sheath you made? This way you have a bunch of options of carrying.

Honestly I have no idea. Never tried one. With the way i do the eyelets, with a little paracord, you can carry in several different ways. With most of my sheaths, I set them up with two belt loops for horizontal carry and by wrapping paracord around both, you create a belt loop for vertical carry. (Most of my FB's I carry horizonal.) With the past few neck rigs I've made, I don't even put the belt loops on them anymore. I'll just create belt loops with cord for whichever way I want to wear it. Do you have a link to the type of spring clip you're talking about? I'd like to check them out. I'm sure as long as I drilled holes for it, it wouldn't be a problem at all.

Dylside, you sheath sounds perfect for neck carry if you add the drain hole. I like how it's as flat as possible with no loops. Like you said, you can simply add loops with cord if needed. It sounds like if you get to where you're happy with your sheaths, you may have some business for 'em.

Since I can't make sheaths I whipped up a wrap job on my necker that is similar to Brett's but I integrated an adjustable neck cord. I'm pretty happy with it. It's simple and functional if you're not one of the type that doesn't like having the cord attatched directly to the knife.

I was actually on my way to start selling them and ran into a couple of snags, including cutting my finger down to the bone, and now I gotta get back into the groove. My main problem now is just getting them perfect. I could easily make some "good enough" sheaths that will work great, but i want them to be perfect. I want people to look at them and say, "wow, thats a really clean, simple, great sheath." At the moment, it's hit or miss. A big part of that also was introducing new tools into my shop to make them with. It's taking me a minute to get used to them. When I get the technique down better with the new tools, it will cut the time it takes to make one more than half.

I am sure the eyelits would be all that is needed, I recently picked up a Gossman which had a spring clip on the back of the sheath anf found it worked really well. Nothing fancy but you could clip to just about anywhere, belt, boot, pack, etc. Here is a pick, I hope Jeff and Mike don't mind.
