Rc3 or 4?

I know you were considering the rc 3 or 4 but have you consitered the kabar short? very diffrent from the rat offerings but if you like the kabar style it mite fit the bill!
 
personally i like the 3. i prefer the thinner blade. if you prefer thicker blades go with the 4.

And it's worth every stinkin' penny, IMO. :D

If you want to take it over the top, get the clip-pointed version (which is what I did). Perfect for firesteels.

The ESEE-4 comes with the sharpened clip point, too. But only in linen micarta.
 
well, between the 3 or the 4 - (which is the question, right?)
3 carries like a dream and slices
4 is wonderful bushcraft and woods knife....

depends on your intended useage I'd guess.
 
Well I remember not too long ago Jeff posted about a guy down in the jungle (not sure of exactly where it was) but had an RC-3 that he used exclusively, I believe, for just about everything. By the looks of the knife it had seen harder use than most of us will ever subject our blades to. Anyway Jeff saw it and tried to buy it back from the guy but the guy wouldn't take the offer. That speaks volumes about the 3, not to take away from the 4. I have tried to find that post, but after about 30 minutes of searching I gave up.
 
I have HEST so now im thinking about getting the 4 , and it will be an optimal set for almost every task , i think... :)
