my 1st impression of the sheath is , I like it more than the RC3,I really like the molded kydex housing and the versitile options on it.Now everybody who knows me on this forum knows I love PE(plain edge)blades but on this new blade I went against the grain and picked up a Serrated version...this is my 1st. serrated fixed blade and truthfully, man this new design of the serration is awesome and freaking sharp.I am headed out the door to go use the pair and I just wanted to say,the RC4 feels perfect...the balance of the knife overall is great and I love the size, though it will not replace the RC3 as my EDC,the RC4 will see a lot of time strapped to my side while fishing in remote spots due to the size and weight.I think Jeff/Mike & Rowen have a solid winner here in the RC4 and if your a PE guy I highly suggest trying out this new version of serrations....Gotta go

I can see this knife quickly becoming the standard by which all field knives are judged. It just looks so perfect. I am not at the cool table yet :grumpy: But I will be soon!

Good comparison shots! How did you find the serrations on whittling the fuzzsticks? Do they want to immediately cut the curl or can you control it?

I am liking the look of those serrations more and more, I didn't even know thet 3 and 4 were different thicknesses. Maybe I'll pick up an RC3 with serrations next.

Tony, thanks for the comparison shots, you answered some questions about the RC-3 before I could ask!!!!

Glad I could help and yes the serration do good at making fuzz sticks, excellent control

I am planning to get an RC-3 when the desert tan ones come out, and I admit I have always leaned away from serrated edges, but these look like they are less hassle to sharpen than typical serrated edges.

Tony cool you got it. Lets see some user pics.

action pics will be posted soon , freaking canon camera is acting up :grumpy:!
but the serrations are great, and very easy to touch up or resharpen with a rod or stone when needed and the serration notch fits the scout model fire steel perfect, for striking a spark.

And I thought my TAK was a great knife, now you got me wanting an RC-4, esecially when it comes to the sheath. The Tak sheath sucks.
