RC4 the redheaded stepchild?

What some people fail to realize about the 5 is that it was designed for prying/cutting your way out of downed aircraft, and lets face it MOST people that buy ESEE knives are never going to be put in that situation.

The 5 was designed first and foremost as a sharpened pry bar, nothing more or less, yes it can be used for camp chores but its prmary focus is an evasion/escape tool.

The other knives in the ESEE line up were designed from years of experience in the jungles and base camps of South America, ergo they are better suited for those situations.
 
Hmmm, and ESEE 4 huh? I love everything about my RC-5. But I am interested in checking out a ESEE 4. Maybe soon. In general the ESEE knives are as stout as anything else out there. Awesome value too.

I'm with KNIFEABILITY,I pack the 6 and the Wife carries the 4.When I get back from a trip at the end of the week,I'll be odering a HEST.I think it would make a great edc blade.We currently own 2 Izulas,2 RC3s,1 RC4,and 1 RC6.Don't have a 5 because I have a BK2.Probably won't get the Junglas(yet) for awhile because I have a BK9,a Battle Rat,and a Trailmaster.So,the HEST is next.

I got my 5 for hard use regardless of environ... *because* it is an SERE knife.

That said, what would the 5 be like with a HEST spike and wire cutter? :cool:
 
leave us redheads alone..we have a way higher pain threshold and no soul! unlike you mere mortals plus we go off like a frog in a sock in the bedroom! hahaha
