During the fire bow work out...I mean a work out ...I need to practice badly but I did get fire(w/the RC fire kit,1strike)but having the bow divot will make me practice more...never one time did the knife ever slip, excellent grip factor,The RC5 is tuff as nails....I chopped, cut, hacked and made fire.....I love the RC5..of course the sharpen pommel is not really needed for me . It has the feel of a great chopper only limited to it's 5" blade...It will chew up some wood, the sheath ,well it has so many carry option to accept any carry option you chose..

Tony your drill could be a bit smaller diameter, and the drill socket needs to be burned in a bit more. It is easier to get an ember from a smaller diameter/ faster moving drill.

Still waiting for my RC5 (same model as yours) from CRKS, and I ordered within the first 30 minutes they were up for pre order.

Thanks for the pics.

I agree 100% mike ,like I said ,I need to practice big time,you know trial & error:D
But the RAT fire kit works wonders ! LOL ;) 1strike on my tinder and bingo bango fire !:D

Looks like the bowdrill work didn't do any damage to the knife's handle, which is good.

I haven't picked up a firekit yet. I keep procrastinating because I already have two of the Strikeforce firestarters.

The sheath system on the RC5 is really impressive.

Just wish it would hurry up and get here.

I worked the bow drill for 20-25 minutes before I removed the RC fire kit from pouch on RC5 sheath...The Micarta handle held up fine... it is suppose to be for Survival use but If I dont practice I can not get better.....I do plan on grabbing a second RC5 ,I think this knife is going to be well received... I am going to couple it with my OD Izula as well .

Yikes ...Anthony...Sorry bro that is not my Name silly boy :p...It is Tony:D to answer you question ...Because from your other post,it seems you like it !

hahaha. Ah the torture. Sometimes it becomes to much. That's why we have the safe word. lol

Tony that RC5 is really calling me. I liked the fire divot in the Laser Strike that the RAT guys designed a few years back, and I'm glad they put it on this knife. One thing though, how sharp is the glass breaker? Looks like it could tear you up a little, but that would be an easy fix with a file.

Great pics, I think I may have to order one now, I thought I would be happy with just the Izula but now I think I will buy this monster.

T,I think you'd really like the RC5 bro...I love the fire divot.... the pommel,is not what I would call sharp as in slice you but more of a concentrate point factor if that sounds right....I'm with you though,I expressed to a friend for me and being a Fisherman,Camping /woods bum the pommel should be rounded off and I hope RAT will do a modified version but since it was design for Armed Forces/LEO,They need it ..

Personaly I can think of at least a few applications for the pointed pommel, and some of them do not involve combatives.

Considering where the sheath and knife will ride the chances of user injury are few. Not much chance of the love handle damage as with the RC3 worn IWB.

The pommel never bothered me(but I would love to have an RC5w/o) and with the mulitude ways you could carry the knife sheathed is one way to get away from the pommel if it bothers anyone.

The weight of the RC5 to me makes it a better chopper than the RC6 but limited by it's blade (5.25") it is like a Small RTAKII of sorts(like a prelude of RC's baby version)...I chopped into the side of my 3" diameter limb and pried left to right and no flex ,limb gave away. the limb was still kinda green and only had being down for about 2weeks,hope my neighbor don't mind me jacking his brush pile,LOL ,I was sitting in the front yard hacking, chopping, cutting away on his limbs(tree limbs)...

Thanks for putting her throught the paces for us Tony. It looks RAT & Rowen hit another one outta the park.

No not paces, like a short walk in the park....THE RC5 is the Strongest RC knife on the market... The RC5 laughed at me ,I did not break it in or even warm her up....just a tease,LOL (insert Dylside joke here). I mean the scuffs on the paint are wood fibers, most wiped clean, barely marred the finish....
