Rc5 edc?

thanks for participating in constructive dialogue, troll.

so when does the banhammer strike?

so back to my original question... what about a shoulder harness... anyone know about a nice leather shoulder rig? I just think the mercharness looks a bit uncomfy... I've got a farm w/ some woods and all, I just don't fancy lugging an rc5 on my belt all damn day. i don't really like anything on my belt, really... i've always carried a sidearm on a shoulder harness and i find it really comfy.

I'm sure you could get a custom sheath made to fit into a pistol harness be kinda badass actually.

you gotta be one bad mammajamma to edc a 5. although I usually have it on at home and usually work from home so....

PS- horizontal carry all the way!

Check out the "Chesty Puller System" from Simply Rugged Leather. I use his "sourdough" for my Ruger Alaskan with that chest rig, and he makes an adapter that should work with any standard leather knife sheath from what I can tell. Im not sure how well it would work with the stock sheath, but it shouldn't be too hard to find someone to hook you up with some leather. You can position it on your chest, or under your arm.

i don't have the patience for 5 months...

ETA... looks like armorall leather can do what I want and they already make RAT leather sheaths...

ET also A... I also really like the Rowe's Leather quad position for it's versatility, found down on the page here...

I do EDC mine, but not in a usuall form. I do always carry it in my GMC 2500 in the door awaiting call to arms. If I'm going out shooting and hiking in the valley and hills I also always take my RC-5.

I couldn't see anything bigger than the RC-3 as an EDC for me. When I get an Izula it will be my EDC. However, something the size of the RC-5 just wouldn't fly and I would truly have NO use for it.

i have and love my RC5 but for EDC for me its just a tad big the 3 or 4 or izula would be my choice for that anyhow if i could get a kydex sheath that clipped on horozontally on my belt then the sheath would be perfect for me

the more i look, study, ponder, the more i'm leaning towards an rc4 for edc... maybe keep an rc5 in my bob...

Hmmm... how about ways to carry the rc5 inverted under your arm, like in a shoulder harness?

Like a mercharness or this but classier...

Anyone make a nice leather shoulder harness for a big knife? I haven't been able to find one...

Yes! I've done more than I'd figure I ever would. Its based on a carry shoulder harness. Please excuse the gut :o I had been sick for a while at that time and look horrible.

The knife has a 10" blade and carries just high enough to be covered by a vest or shirt. I've done double rigs as well and they conceal very well. Fun to wear but a bear to make. :D

I have my RC-5 on my truck bag which I keep in my truck

As Do I :D so it is my Trucks EDC if that counts.... IMO 1pound of steel is alot to hang from ones side daily unless you want to walk like the cowboys did in the olden days will a slight gimp... ;)

Leatherman, if my gut was as small as yours I'd be (and wifey too) would be quite happy.

Your shoulder unit is exactly what I've been looking for, but like I said in a previous post, perhaps the rc5 is a bit too big and unwieldy. I saw on twowolvesoutdoor.com that you have some very nice looking sheaths for the rc4. have you ever turned one of them into a shoulder rig?

thanks, michael
